About Sean Sutton
Sean Sutton is a Vice President in the Morgan Stanley at Work valuation practice where he focuses on the execution of valuation analyses for venture-backed private companies. He is a 409A subject matter expert with over half a decade of experience completing tax and compliance related valuations, specifically IRC 409A and ASC 820 valuations. Since joining Morgan Stanley, Sean has led over a thousand engagements with companies who range from early/seed stage businesses to pre-IPO enterprises. This experience includes working with numerous companies navigating the private to public process through an IPO or SPAC, as well as many of Morgan Stanley at Work’s largest and most mature private clients. Additionally, he is tasked with leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Associates. Before joining MS, Sean interned at a consumer goods startup in the Bay Area and graduated magna cum laude from the Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University with degrees in business economics and finance. Sean was also an all-conference performer on the Seattle University Division I baseball team.
