I am President of Visit Topeka and have recently served as Interim President of Downtown Topeka, where I have helped guide some of the city’s most impactful economic development and cultural projects. My work spans tourism strategy, destination marketing, and downtown revitalization, with a strong focus on measurable outcomes that grow visitation, support local businesses, and strengthen community pride.Over the past several years, I have led initiatives that secured multi-year agreements with major sports and entertainment events, driving tens of thousands of room nights annually. I directed award-winning marketing campaigns such as “See, Be, Free Yourself in Topeka” and the Brown v. Board 70th Anniversary Commemoration, both recognized statewide and nationally. I have also championed downtown redevelopment projects, including Hotel Topeka, Evergy Plaza, and long-term planning for America 250 celebrations. These efforts are built on partnerships across public, private, and nonprofit sectors to maximize tourism dollars and deliver sustainable impact.I bring a data-driven, collaborative, and creative leadership style, blending board governance and strategic planning with hands-on innovation. Beyond traditional destination development, I explore emerging opportunities to position communities at the cutting edge of tourism and placemaking.At my core, I believe tourism is about telling stories that inspire people to visit, stay, and return—and ensuring the infrastructure, experiences, and community vision are strong enough to keep those stories alive.
