Went from technician to project manager in a fraction of the time it took most people. Earned certifications. Took on bigger projects. Leveraged every opportunity the structure offered.And then I hit the wall.Not because I stopped performing. But because I ran out of levels to climb. My manager told me plainly — the next step just requires more time. No new skill to earn. No certification to chase. Just wait.Then Covid hit and sent us all home and something unexpected happened.I started taking my kids to school in the morning and picking them up in the afternoon. I took lunch with my wife. I watched my kids during the day instead of just hearing about it when I got home at night.I didn\'t even know I was missing it until I wasn\'t missing it anymore.There were other opportunities inside my company I could have chased. But every single one of them came with nights, weekends, or months away from home.
