About Sean Hovendick
Born in Nebraska, Sean Hovendick spent half his childhood in New Mexico. He started his career as a paratrooper in the US Army\'s 82nd Airborne Division, then received his bachelor\'s degree from Eastern New Mexico University with a concentration in art, broadcast production, and computer animation. After ten years of industry experience, he earned his MFA from Syracuse University.In addition to managing the graphic and web design studio he founded in 1998, Sean is a Professor of Graphic + Media Design and Chair of the Department of Visual & Performing Arts at Russell Sage College. A member of AIGA and the New Media Caucus (NMC), Professor Hovendick is also an Advanced Placement (AP) Reader and teaches courses in art, graphic design, UI/UX, web design, motion graphics, time arts, senior capstone, and professional practices.As an exhibiting media artist, Sean\'s award-winning interactive, photographic, and time-based artworks explore the hidden forces of power, identity, and social order within the mediated psyche. His work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally.
