About Sean Heffron

I have over 25 years of experience serving students and cultivating pathways to engagement and success. My full-time role as Assistant Dean for Student Success keeps my skills current, while also allowing me to work with colleagues across the university on student success and retention initiatives. I\'ve taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses since 2007, including Business Communications, Management and Supervisory Skills, Intro to Business, Effective Communication, Writing, Communication Theory, and Nonverbal Communication. My style both inside and outside of the classroom is intentionally interactive, because we learn by DOING, not by sitting and listening.I\'ve served as a Business Communications, Marketing, and Public Presentation resource for groups ranging from high school students through undergraduate and MBA students, to professional groups such as the Fairfield County Community Foundation, SeriousFun Network, and Webster Bank. I also love to write, and have completed not only a few academic journal articles, but four published novels, one novella and a how-to guide for college freshmen.
