ABOUT SEAN BLEZARD

I didn\'t get to AI through the normal route. I didn\'t come out of university as a newly minted data scientist. Instead, I\'ve gathered skills and experience across different technology roles over 20+ years: from agile software engineering and architecture to engineering management, technical product management, then coaching and consulting with teams building products and services. I\'ve worked on everything from BBC iPlayer to platforms for major brands like EE.Since 2011 I\'ve run my own coaching and consulting practice, helping organisations scale and adopt new technologies as they emerged, all with the goal of building better products and services.Generative AI interested me in 2019 but became an obsession from 2022 onward. In 2024, alongside other work, I took on the role of Head of AI Engineering Research at an emerging AI services company. That role reinforced my belief that the biggest challenges in AI aren\'t just technical: they\'re about reliable deployment, evaluation, and assurance.I follow AI research very closely but maintain a measured position. I understand both the potential and limitations of generative AI and foundation models. What really interests me is applying these models in architectures that let us create products and services we never could before, and amplifying what humans can do at work.Currently open to: Senior AI leadership roles, fractional CTO positions, and strategic AI consultancy engagements where I can bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI capabilities and real business outcomes.
