The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the management, coordination, design and delivery of a high quality learning & competence assurance service to designated new build projects. Strategy and Planning • As part of the project management teams, in line with the project processes for capital projects: • Lead the development of project competence assurance strategies and processes for New Build. • Identify and implement in partnership with stakeholders, competence assurance requirements for new equipment and processes. • Monitor key project competence assurance measures Health, Safety & Environment • Ensure that project competence assurance issues are embedded and actioned. • Together with H&S ensure that training delivered complies with relevant legislation as necessary • Ensure Process New Build Safety Competence Assurance outputs from HAZOPs and similar are closed out (completed). • Ensure that project learning solutions meet project competence assurance legislative, reporting and auditing standards. Customer Service • Drive the interface between the projects, works areas and functions to ensure that every new build within strip products complies with competence assurance standards. • Chair individual projects training groups to ensure that needs are effectively captured, agreed, delivered. • Lead New Build competence assurance assessments. • Manage and develop with works areas and project management teams a clear and detailed plan for the implementation of competence assurance solutions. • Evaluate project competence assurance solutions, in respect of quality, effectiveness, value and cost (ROI). Cost Competitiveness • Recommends control of allocated project training budgets • Report on spend against the allocated budget, assist with cost justifications and the approval of training spend. Group Liaison • Liaise with key stakeholders in other businesses in the Tata group to share and learn best practices and develop consistent approaches.
