About Sean Sandeen
I am a highly-motivated innovator and problem solver with an active Top Secret - SCI security clearance and Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph who has served in the military as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician. I was driven towards IT and analysis from a very young age. I built computers, experimented with coding, and began using spreadsheets and databases as a teenagerl. As an adult, I took that natural gift for logical analysis and desire for lifelong learning into my military career. Over the course of my military service I became accustomed to applying critical thinking, logical decision-making, coordinating cross-functional team efforts across multiple organizations, and having to adapt on the fly to solve unique problems. I have been directly responsible for over $2 million of equipment at a given time,$1.5 million in contracting costs, worked with budgets of up to $10 million, and have saved organizations hundreds of thousands of dollars in costs. Disarming bombs and working with explosives gave me experience with making high-stakes decisions while under pressure. I also pursued a non-traditional career path that gave me experiences in cybersecurity, information technology (IT), intelligence analysis, human resources (HR), project management, teaching, and leadership, in addition to the public safety and emergency management duties associated with being a bomb technician. I am currently working on my Security+ certification. After earning that, I intend to take my ITIL and PMP exams. I will then continue to work on computer coding languages, with Java being next on my list. Leaving the military has paved the way to move into new careers leveraging my diverse experiences from my time in service. I am excited to take the skills I have learned in the military and use them to enhance a new organization in a role related to software development, data analysis, cyber intelligence, IT, or IT project management.
