Currently responsible for the entire zoological department and conservation programs for the Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo, including its curator, animal care staff and robust volunteer group. Our collection is housed in three locations and is comprised of over 400+ animals spanning 70 species. Coordinates short-term plans, facilitates long-term goals, and rapidly responds to challenges throughout the zoo daily, while modernizing internal procedures including record-keeping, budgeting/ordering, veterinary care, and the diet system.• Prepared application for AZA accreditation and applied March 2025.• Additional duties include overseeing collection records, animal health and wellbeing, staff development and accountability, contracts and capital improvement projects, and strategic decision-making regarding the following: collection plan, master plan, ambassador animal plan, wildlife conservation plan, SOPs, permits, staffing/hiring, public programming, integrated pest management, and accreditation.
