About Sean Obrien

Sean has served in key positions over the past 20 years in the design, planning, and construction industry with a focus on quality assurance and quality control, as well as constructability and project implementation. Working in Project and Operations Management, Sean provides a strong strategic perspective as an architect to successfully manage on schedule projects, at or below budget, consistently. He is a USGBC LEED Accredited Professional, with a specialty in Building Design and Construction (since 2009), and has provided design services and construction services for numerous LEED-certified projects. He has been an integrated team member in all technical phases of project development, including master planning, design planning, programming, concept through design development, site, and facility construction, commissioning, and closeout. Sean has also spent much of his career in the role of contractor and provides keen insight into the details of the built environment rooted in the local context. Sean promotes sustainable high-performance design and construction through speaking at seminars and providing training sessions on sustainability and sustainable innovations in design and construction practices. He serves as a board member and Chairman of the Market Leadership Advisory Board, and Past Chair of the Green Schools Committee (20••••21), in affiliation with the US Green Building Council NY Upstate Chapter. Sean remains connected with academia and design research with professional mentorship to students in the Cornell University Sustainable Design (CUSD) program. He has also served as a teaching assistant for architectural design and theory at the University of Kentucky, College of Design, and has been a visiting lecturer and Architecture Critic for Cornell University, School of Architecture, Art and Planning.Sean currently serves as a Senior Project Manager and Facilities Coordinator on multiple large-scale K-12 education and international development projects, as well as pursuing future B&D opportunities.
