ABOUT SEAN MCANDREWS

I\'m a partner at Deloitte based out of Calgary. I am in our Accounting Operations Advisory team focusing on advising our clients on internal controls over financial reporting (\"ICFR\"). I have a strong background in audit, financial reporting, internal controls, IT general controls, and corporate governance.I\'ve been in public practice for over 18 years. Prior to joining Deloitte I was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Through my career, I have witnessed tremendous change in the financial reporting and regulatory environments. In the next few years the pace of change will accelerate exponentially as technology and innovation disrupt and reshape the way we work. My clients are continually reassessing and reimagining how they adapt their businesses and control environments to manage this change.While the pace of change in business remains rapid, I seek stability in the relationships I have cultivated over the years, personally and professionally. I focus on establishing and strengthening genuine, meaningful, connections with my friends, family, and clients. With my clients I am known for being pragmatic and flexible in how I approach opportunities or issues. On a personal note, I have 1 wife, 2 dogs, and 3 children and I love them all. I am an avid sports fan and have played and coached hockey, soccer, baseball, and football. As my knees have gotten more and more creaky, I have gotten more and more into golf. When I am not playing sports or chasing kids I am often reading. I love books on history and science but when my brain needs to turn off I usually turn to sci-fi or fantasy.
