About Sean Laborde

A common story you hear in the insurance industry is how people “fell into” insurance on accident. My personal story is different. It started back in high school when my Calculus teacher encouraged me to look into careers where I could combine my passion for math and statistics to quantify risk. From that moment on, I was one of the few who actually “jumped” into insurance. After earning a degree in Actuarial Science, I worked for several insurance carriers in different roles until 1997 when I joined M3, now a top 50 business insurance broker headquartered in my home state of Madison, WI. I’ve worn many hats at M3, working my way up from a data analyst to sales manager and eventually holding leadership roles across the organization. Today, as President of the firm, I work closely with our senior leadership team to set the firm’s vision and develop a strategic operational plan to focused on growth, investment and leverage. In simple terms, my role is to help our “M3ers” deliver exceptional work to help our clients succeed, and in turn, help our staff to achieve their potential. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I met my wife Stacy in college (Go Badgers!) and together we have two daughters in college and a son in high school. I enjoy any form of physical activity, but I especially love running and golfing. I’m a bit of a bookworm too but the truth is, I’m happiest just hanging out with my friends and family.
