ABOUT SEAN FRASER

Sean Fraser has worked across Canada and internationally in the field of land use planning, environmental and cultural conservation for more than 30 years and has been an executive in the Ontario Public Service for 13 years. He is currently the Assistant Deputy Minister of the Municipal and Housing Operations Division at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) where he leads the team responsible for being the primary liaison with municipal sector clients, housing service managers and the development sector. The division fosters productive and cooperative provincial-municipal relations through direct client contact and delivers statutory, program, education and advisory services to promote strong communities and local governments and support for the full continuum of housing options. Prior to this he was the Assistant Deputy Minister of the Planning and Growth Division (MMAH) from 20••••24.From 20••••21 he was director of Provincial Planning Policy at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing where he led the team responsible for the Planning Act, Provincial Policy Statement and provincial land use plans. From 20••••19 he was Director of Programs and Services at the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries where he led the teams responsible for the province\'s archaeological program, public library, museum and heritage funding as well as administration of the Ontario Heritage Act.Sean worked at the Ontario Heritage Trust (and agency of the Government of Ontario) from 20••••17 holding a number of roles including Director of Heritage Programs and Operations. In 2013 Sean was part of the Trust\'s leadership team that facilitated the reburial of the Huron-Wendat Ancestors at the Thonnakona Ossuary.Between 19••••06 he participated in multiple archaeological excavations in the Middle East as project architect while also supporting cultural tourism development projects in the region.
