About Sean Ambroz

I’m a mechanical engineer passionate about tackling complex, high-impact challenges and delivering solutions that seamlessly combine form and function. At GTI Energy, I work on both the Mechanical Design & Analysis and Rescom teams, partnering with leading residential and commercial appliance manufacturers to advance appliance design and performance. A major focus of my work involves evaluating the effects of blending hydrogen into the natural gas supply—analyzing impacts on efficiency, emissions, and overall system performance to support the transition to cleaner energy.I previously completed GTI’s Engineering Rotational Development Program, gaining hands-on experience across R&D, product development, and field testing. I hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University’s McCormick School of Engineering with a concentration in design. During my time there, I was involved in the NU Aero Club—building and competing model aircraft—and participated in the Northwestern Undergraduate Energy Club (NUEC), furthering my interest in sustainable innovation. My earlier experiences range from technical internships at SAI Advanced Power Solutions and Clover Imaging Group to leadership roles as a computer technician, lifeguard, and youth football referee. I’ve always sought out opportunities to lead, including co-founding a club to introduce STEM to elementary students and captaining my varsity lacrosse team in high school. These experiences sharpened my ability to lead, communicate, and adapt across different environments.I bring a full-lifecycle approach to problem-solving—whether it\'s conducting research, iterating designs, or developing products. I’m always open to exploring how my background can create value, drive innovation, and elevate the work of forward-thinking organizations.
