About Seamus H.

Since graduating from Marquette University in 2021, I\'ve been a key part of the front end innovation team at Milwaukee Tool. As a part of a cross-functional team I collaborate with industrial designers, engineers, researchers and product managers to create innovative new concepts. These can vary in depth from individual novel features, to new tools that improve our users productivity, to strategic product roadmaps that rethink entire product categories. Over the past 4 years I\'ve focused on developing my skills as a researcher and product strategist. I am obsessed with understanding our users more complexly and understanding why they do what they do. I believe that fantastic products speak for themselves, and that no amount of marketing is as effective as creating a product that truly \"gets\" your user and solves their unmet needs.

   I spend my time split between four main focuses in my role as a Advanced Concept Engineer At Milwaukee Tool. Design Strategy (30%)- Engaging with key stakeholders to identify the right business areas and user groups to focus on for new research sprints, and aligning the team on the right stimulus to create to achieve our desired learning outcomes.Technical Execution (30%)- Building stimulus to facilitate research and achieve our desired learning outcomes.User Experience Research (30%)- Leading and supporting qualitative and quantitative research with tradespeople to understand their unmet needs and pain points to identify opportunities for new trade focused tools.Skunk-Works Innovation Projects (10%)- Self directed innovation projects aimed at incubating new to world ideas to prove the potential benefit to users and Milwaukee Tool before an official project is created.
