I still had that itch that needed scratched, and except from a few jaunts across to Denmark with Viking LSE I was very much UK based. A chance meeting between my dad and EPIC opened up an opportunity that I hadn\'t expected or new existed. There were some synergies between a company servicing lifeboats and a company pioneering the part before climbing into a lifeboat - the mustering. EPIC were in the market for a new Sales Lead to handle the volume of international sales enquiries and as it turned out my dad knew of someone who fit the bill quite nicely. Cue me driving up into the Rothiemay wilderness for a coffee with Ian Traquair and 45 minutes later shaking hands as his new Business Development Manager. His charming personality and insatiable passion for personnel safety really made this a no brainer to me - having spent the last 3 years involved in all aspects of offshore safety, mustering and evacuations etc it was clear EPIC had something that could change the landscape through digitalising a manual and dangerous process. EPIC\'s core business is electronic mustering. It\'s removing the need for as much human intervention as possible and automating certain aspects of a widely used paper based system that is without a doubt antiquated. With every single offshore installation and asset globally having a mustering process, it made the market potential huge and with EPIC already having a good market share in key industries, it made it a very exciting opportunity for me to jump into. The company has seen some recent changes which include a relocation to a more centralised base near Aberdeen and a takeover from a group specialising in access control and security systems in the superyacht space. It\'s really helped elevate EPIC\'s name globally and our reputation is as strong as it has ever been. Electronic mustering is becoming a far more recognisable term and more and more companies are waking up to the potential of digital safety.
