I’ve joined the City of Monroe as Chief of Business and Economic Development, serving on Mayor Friday Ellis’s executive staff. I also serve as a primary point of contact and public-facing representative for new business activity and economic development initiatives. The goal is simple: be accessible, be practical, and help turn good ideas into real progress for Monroe.

ABOUT SCOTTY ROBINSON
I currently serve as Chief of Business and Economic Development for the City of Monroe, Louisiana, where I help lead strategic initiatives that strengthen the city’s business climate, improve coordination across departments, and support long-term community growth. My work combines economic development, operational improvement, stakeholder engagement, and public sector leadership.Before joining the City of Monroe, I served 12 years in parish government, including as President of the Ouachita Parish Police Jury. During that time, I worked closely on budgets, infrastructure, personnel matters, constituent issues, intergovernmental relationships, and the day-to-day realities of public administration. That experience shaped my leadership style and gave me a deep respect for the complexity of local government and the importance of execution, transparency, and trust.In my current role, I collaborate with internal departments, elected leadership, business partners, and community stakeholders to move projects forward, remove barriers, and create momentum. I am particularly drawn to the administrative and operational side of government, where strong leadership, sound processes, and cross-functional coordination can directly improve outcomes for both organizations and the people they serve.My professional focus includes local government administration, business and economic development, process improvement, strategic partnerships, and organizational leadership. I am passionate about helping public institutions operate more effectively while staying grounded in service, accountability, and real-world results.
