Focus on the needs of major crime teams, attending investigatory strategy meetings, briefings and debriefs, acting as the lead or deputy SPOC and support the development of digital profiles for victims, witness or suspects within investigations.Proactively contribute to investigations and gathering of communications data intelligence and evidence, whilst identifying and advising on the best means of acquiring communications data from CSPs/ISPs.Support and advise Digital Media Investigators, analysts, open source and digital forensics experts to translate the investigative strategy into focused actions and develop their approach to the use of communications data and techniques within investigations.Optimise and promote awareness of the use of communications data through tailored advice and assist data applicants and investigators to find the most appropriate and least intrusive means of meeting their investigative needs.Review and quality assure communications data applications for necessity, proportionality, minimisation of collateral intrusion and cost effectiveness.Ensure communications data applicants comply with all legal obligations in respect to the Investigatory Powers Act (IPA) 2016 and advise on issues for consideration following review of data applications.In line with the Investigatory Powers Act (IPA) 2016, instigate and acquire lawful communications data submissions from CSPs/ISPs.Perform primary assessment of communications data acquired from CSPs/ISPs, identify any excess data, retain a gold copy of original data to maintain integrity of content and support analysts and investigators in the interpretation of acquired communications data. Undertake Knowledge Sharing Forum events / Continuous Improvement activities and proactively acquire new communications data knowledge.Maintain accreditation as a single point of contact by attending regular training courses and continual professional development activities.
