ABOUT SCOTT MEIER

I am a Credit Union and Fitness Nerd! How did that happen? At the ripe old age of 2 weeks, I opened my first credit union account and still have it to this day.(Ok… my parents opened it for me, but still:)) In fact, my parents actually met at that same credit union and my dad retired after almost 36 years of service. He started as a loan officer there right out of college and eventually created their Marketing Department where he was Vice President of Marketing. A long lineage of “the credit union life” continued after, with me… I am proud to say that I was born into the credit union movement. I began as a part-time teller and worked my way up to a lending manager. In 2016, I received my CCUE to broaden my education and dedication to the movement. During my time at the credit union, I had the opportunity to really help my members. Whether that was simply greeting them with a friendly smile, telling a funny story, or being able to help their family secure their dream with a new loan. The heart of a credit union is truly unmatchable for me. While growing up in the Credit Union Movement, I was also an avid athlete playing sports from the time I could hold a ball. I took this passion to college where I graduated with a degree in Exercise Science. Later, while working in the Credit Union Industry I opened a 24/7 Gym in my home town to help my community and improve the lives of friends and family that I grew up with. Later I was able to sell my business to another family who were as passionate about fitness as I am. After selling my business and continuing my Credit Union Experience, I changed it up and jumped to the CUSO side. I got to match the heart of a credit union with the power of a CUSO. Being a Sales Executive at LenderClose was another great role that I loved. I had the opportunity to work with lenders and talk to them about how the LenderClose technology capabilities made home equity lending faster, simpler and friction-free. They could increase their lending, lend faster and at scale – while giving their members a better borrower experience. Now, after over 16 years in the Credit Union Industry, I\'m making a change and diving back in to the Fitness Industry at Stretch Zone. Here I\'ll have an opportunity to grow another of my passions. I\'ll be working with other fitness professionals to better the health of our community. Not only that but I\'ll be able to use everything I\'ve learned in the Credit Union Industry to better help our clients be their physical best, not just financial.
