ABOUT SCOTT PAVELICH

I\'m a metallurgist/materials engineer with 10+ years experience in research, design, owner-operator, laboratory, and consulting roles. I leverage my depth and breadth of experience to purposefully induce (via extractive metallurgy and mineral processing) or prevent (e.g, mitigating corrosion, cracking, failures, and other forms of decay) environmental degradation of materials.I\'m keen on expanding my horizons and taking on new challenges in areas that will allow me to leverage my analytical background, emotional intelligence, communication and problem-solving abilities.As a lifelong learner, I continue expanding my knowledge—in breadth or depth, where appropriate—in areas I\'ve not formally studied as well as those which may have interesting applications in, or parallels to, materials and metallurgy.I\'m skilled in the following domains:Transferable and Soft Skills: project management or leadership (e.g, project lead), data analysis, budgetary estimates, proposal writing, oral or written forms of communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, time management, and resource allocation (equipment, materials, personnel).Technical/Hard Skills: physical materials science and engineering; failure analysis, characterization, and selection of materials (e.g, metals, ceramics, polymers, and composites); damage mechanisms; corrosion; environmental degradation; asset integrity; electrochemistry; extractive metallurgy (e.g, hydrometallurgy); and design.I\'m driven to develop and apply my existing knowledge and skills to become a world-class materials engineer in both physical (processing, structure, properties and performance relationships in solid state matter, and its response to stimuli) and chemical (purposefully applied or environmentally induced elemental/compound/constituent interactions in solid-liquid and solid-vapour/gaseous systems) metallurgy.
