Scott King is a General Counsel and business lawyer with varied experience in the chemical and oil and gas industries. Mr. King is a partner at Gaille PLLC, a law firm with its principal office in Houston that focuses on representing clients in domestic and international business transactions in the chemicals, construction, oil and gas and energy, including nuclear energy, spaces. Many of the firm\'s clients are emerging energy production companies with private equity backing. He has also worked as an adjunct professor at Texas A&M University Law School. Over the course of a successful career at Occidental Petroleum Corporation and its subsidiaries, Mr. King enjoyed a number of positions of increasing responsibility. His most recent title was Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Occidental Chemical Corporation, reporting to the segment President with dotted line responsibility to functional management. The transactions for which he was the lead lawyer, and often the lead negotiator, included mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures, both domestic and cross border, and spanned industries including chemicals, oil and gas, midstream energy and coal. Many of these transactions involved assets worth more than a billion dollars. He was an integral part of a team that restructured the asset base of Occidental, transforming that sprawling conglomerate into an enormously profitable enterprise.
