May 31, 2025 marks my 7th year with David Evans and Associates, Inc.(DEA) engineering consulting firm as a Senior Transportation Engineer. Also celebrating 34 years in the transportation engineering industry - between Oregon DOT and DEA - continuing my enjoyment in helping strengthen the temporary traffic control engineering discipline and work zone safety industry.In February, 2013, I founded SM2 Engineering - a small engineering consulting company providing Traffic Control Plan designs for roadway projects and sporting/special events; and, Expert Witness services for work zone and roadway-related crashes.My Engineering Specialties include: Temporary Traffic Control Plan (TCP) design, Contract specification writing, work zone safety measures, practices, technologies and devices. Work zone design training. Technical program development and management. Expert witness services for work zone and other roadway-related crashes; and, temporary traffic control standards and requirements. TCP designs for roadway projects, as well as cycling, running, and triathlon events on public roads.I also enjoy public speaking - as a Trainer, Key Note Speaker, Emcee or Master of Ceremonies.Personal Interests: Proud owners of a 50-acre cattle ranch - building a legacy for our children and grandchildren. When I can, I enjoy sporting clay shooting, cycling, golf, cooking and travelling the US and abroad!
