ABOUT SCOTT MAUGER
Dr. Scott Mauger is a Senior Scientist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where he leads the process science and manufacturing research for proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) and electrolyzers. Currently he is focused on roll-to-roll production of fuel cells and electrolyzers. At NREL, he has also worked on other projects developing modules for building-integrated photovoltaics and photovoltaic textiles. Before coming to NREL, Dr. Mauger earned a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of California, Davis. There, his research provided new understanding of how organic photovoltaic cell design, material choices, and processing impact photovoltaic efficiency. During his Ph.D, he was invited to Linköping University (Sweden) to develop imaging techniques for studying the formation of organic semiconductor thin films. Dr. Mauger also earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Oregon State University, where he graduated first in his class.
