Dr. Massey is a visionary leader and expert in competitive strategy, collective impact, and shared value, advising CEOs, governments, universities, and global organizations. As a published author, speaker, and Emmy-nominated documentary producer, he advances shared value and sustainable solutions through innovative business, NGO, and government strategies.A serial entrepreneur, Dr. Massey has driven multi-million-dollar investments in startups, managed foundation grants, and led U.S. federal grant programs. He has spearheaded economic strategic planning and collective impact initiatives with institutions like Purdue and UC Davis. A member of Michael Porter’s Microeconomics of Competitiveness network, he has served on over forty boards and committees.Founder and chairman of the Global Action Platform, Dr. Massey also Chairs Indigi PTE (Singapore) and is a founding member of the World Agriculture Forum’s Council in Davos. He chairs the Tennessee Leaders Action Platform and serves on the Steering Committee for the Porter Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness.In collaboration with KPMG and the Shared Value Initiative, Dr. Massey created the Global Shared Value Award. He chairs the Global Challenge Fund and co-hosts the Global Action Summit with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria. From 2015 to 2025, he chaired the Harvard Business School’s Young American Leaders Program—Nashville.Currently chairing Healthier757, a ten-county health literacy project in Virginia, Dr. Massey has advised the Diplomatic Courier, STEM Higher Education Council, Council on Competitiveness, YouScience, and Oak Ridge Associated Universities. He developed SmartDesktop for Teachers, integrating assessment data with curriculum content.A champion of arts and education, Dr. Massey founded the Leonard Bernstein Center with a board including David Rockefeller and Yo-Yo Ma. He also advised Lincoln Center’s 50th Anniversary.Dr. Massey holds a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University in cybernetics, philosophy of science, and logic. He is the proud father of two sons, Alec and Cameron.

   Global Action Platform is the leading university-business alliance advancing scalable, sustainable solutions for abundant food, health and prosperity. Global Action Platform is the convener for a global innovation hub in Tennessee, operating four core programs. To mobilize leaders, the Platform convenes international corporate, academic, investor, government and NGO leaders annually at the Global Action Summit hosted by Fareed Zakaria (CNN) and at Leadership Forums at the United Nations and World Bank. Through its Challenge Impact Fund, the Center invests in innovation and emerging companies with potential for scalable, transformative impact. Through the Global Action Connect program, the Center provides online work groups and collaborative tools to advance entreprenurial ventures; and through its Communications activities, the Center produces the annual Global Action Report that reaches major decision makers in the corporate, government, research, media, finance, and NGO sectors.
