ABOUT SCOTT MOFFATT

It all started by coaching baseball teams as a teenager. From that point on, I realized that helping others to reach their potential is an important part of my life. Today, I lead an entrepreneurial team of IG Wealth Management Consultants spread out across the vast, beautiful area called Northern British Columbia. These men and women embrace the financial planning process, with a caring commitment to each client’s unique and individual needs. Coaching new Consultants, top-performers, tenured Consultants, and everything in between, is a significant part of my role. Staying abreast of regulatory changes, product and platform innovations – at both the industry and IG Wealth Management levels – takes time and it’s my responsibility to disseminate all of this information into manageable action items for our team. One of the most important roles I have is to ensure that our IG Wealth Management presence in the North is growing over time. As baby boomers continue to retire, the challenges that lie ahead are substantial. And in turn, so are the opportunities. Where some see problems, others see possibilities. If you’re the latter, then you’re likely an entrepreneur – in spirit or reality – and you will know exactly what I’m talking about. Some of my favourite conversations in the past while have been with community-minded individuals who have a desire to make a meaningful difference. They have been blown away when they realized how much misinformation is out there. It’s been said that you can either build your own dream, or someone else will hire you to build theirs. In our line of work, we get to build our own AND help others to build theirs. It doesn’t get much better than that.
