I’ve spent my entire adult life protecting others—starting at 18, guarding nukes as an Air Force Security Specialist. Since then, I’ve worked across the spectrum of public safety: law enforcement, physical security, leadership, and consulting.From patrolling Waikiki—including representing the Mayor’s Office of Information and Complaint—to leading high stakes investigations, mentoring youth, managing security teams, launching a behavioral threat assessment team, and overhauling policy, I’ve consistently been trusted to build teams, resolve sensitive issues, and make the right calls.I hold the CSSM (Certified in Security Supervision and Management) credential from the International Foundation for Protection Officers, underscoring my commitment to professional security leadership.Through Hewetson Group, I continue to support clients who take security and risk management seriously.

1. Municipal Security Manager

   Mesa Police Department

   In this role, I manage both the city’s in-house municipal security team and our contract with a private security vendor. Day to day, I oversee security operations at City Hall and the courthouse—our two most critical buildings—ensuring city staff and the public are protected by a reliable, well-trained team.On the contract side, I act as the city’s point person with our private security provider. That includes making sure invoices are accurate and paid on time, correcting billing issues when they come up, and holding the vendor accountable to the terms of our agreement. I work closely with their management team to address service gaps, resolve concerns, and ensure the guards they provide are meeting our expectations and delivering value to the city.Beyond daily operations, I help shape our broader security posture—developing programs like our Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP), supporting emergency preparedness efforts, and leading internal security and threat investigations. I also serve as a go-to resource for other departments when they need guidance on security strategy or best practices.
