As an owner at Garvey Schubert Barer and head of the Intellectual Property/Technology Group, I help clients register, protect or sell their intellectual property. I bring a combination of business savvy, domain expertise, creative thinking and more than 15 years of experience in the technology sector to addressing my client’s needs. I provide practical guidance to clients in all aspects of their intellectual property rights and business transactions, including copyright, trademark, trade secret, licensing and distribution, joint ventures, employment and non-competition, publishing, e-commerce, privacy and data security, web hosting, content development and clearance, and domain disputes. I work with start-ups, non-profits and public companies. A frequent speaker and lecturer on intellectual property, high technology, technology transfer, and arts and entertainment law issues, I also serve on the advisory board for the LOGIN Conference, the premiere online game development conference. I’m involved with organizations that promote the growth of technology and the arts, including the Washington Technology Industry Association, International Technology Law Association, International Trademark Association (INTA), and Washington Lawyers for the Arts.
