About Scott Markham
I’m a people-first HR leader who believes strong cultures are built the same way strong teams are built: with trust, clarity, accountability, and genuine care for the people doing the work. Before my career in Human Resources, I spent nearly 20 years coaching competitive colorguard teams—helping young performers grow into confident, disciplined, high-achieving leaders under pressure. That experience has shaped how I lead today. Whether in rehearsal or the workplace, people do their best work when they feel seen, supported, and challenged with purpose.Over the past decade, I’ve applied that same coaching mindset to Human Resources leadership—partnering with organizations to strengthen people strategy, benefits programs, employee relations, compliance, talent acquisition, learning and development, and culture. I lead with empathy, but I’m equally focused on outcomes: operational stability, engaged employees, thoughtful benefits design, and business results that last.My work spans core HR operations, benefits administration, workforce strategy, and DEIB initiatives, with a strong emphasis on communication, education, and trust-building. I’m particularly passionate about helping employees navigate change, supporting leaders through complexity, and ensuring people programs are both compliant and human.Beyond my professional role, I’m deeply committed to community impact. I serve on a board of directors supporting youth mentoring initiatives and actively contribute to DEIB-focused volunteer work—because leadership doesn’t stop at the office door.I’m at my best partnering with organizations that value integrity, belonging, and thoughtful leadership—and that understand investing in people is not separate from achieving business goals, but essential to it.
