ABOUT SCOTT WOODS

PROVIDING EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP. To me, that has been my calling for the past 34 years, including as President & CEO of South Carolina Federal Credit Union (SCFCU), a position I have held since 2004.It is an honor to serve our members and lead a team of 650 amazing people. It is humbling that SCFCU has been named a 12th-time winner as one of the “Best Places to Work in SC”.I believe the best leaders are servant leaders. Personally, that means I have the wonderful opportunity, as Robert K. Greenleaf said, to “provide leadership that enriches the lives of individuals and builds better organizations.” It is by working with and through people, that we are best able to achieve our organizational objectives. In addition to my executive leadership at SCFCU, which began in as their Chief Financial Officer, I have served as Chairman of the Board for the following: Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, SC Credit Union League, Vizo Financial Corporate Credit Union, Charleston Southern University & Palmetto Cooperative Services.I have had the privilege to be appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond’s Community Investment Council, the boards of the Credit Union National Association, PaymentsFirst Electronic Payments Association, SC Financial Solutions and on the Governmental Affairs Committee for the Carolinas Credit Union League. In our local community, it was particularly rewarding to serve as a volunteer for the Carolina Lowcountry Red Cross, the Komen Race for the Cure, and Water Missions International.I consider it an honor to be in a position to provide executive leadership and governance. To successfully serve in this role requires that I bring my skills and experience to bear in the key areas of strategic organizational vision, critical thinking, and collaboration. Effectively doing this, and then seeing the positive, desired results emerge, is what truly inspires me.
