ABOUT SCOTT WADE
I started in this industry in 2003 as a service technician for Adelphia Cable, which was acquired by Comcast in 2006. From the very beginning I was a customer facing employee representing the companies products and services. I quickly excelled and promoted up. By 2005 I joined the plant operations team and shared responsibilities of the HFC Network from the headend to the customer. The skills I acquired range from modulation/demodulation, forward/return combining, channel insertion, headend/hub and node optimization, and much more. From 2006 to 2013 lead many projects each year. Projects included power supply upgrades/installs, node optimizations, transmitter/receiver upgrades, HFC design and construction, digital voice launch, headend and hub upgrades or optimizations, hospitality programming, and much more. I also worked with our programming team to create online tools, databases, and ticket tracking systems to support such projects, along with storm and outage tracking systems from a regional standpoint. From compiling raw data to execution I lead projects from start to finish. I was also fortunate enough to lead regional initiatives including cost studies. With assistance, I was able to create a comprehensive plan that would help save our region a quarter of a million dollars.Toward the end of my tenure on the plant operations team I was selected to join a national leadership program and quickly opened new doors. I was given a choice on who I wanted to lead. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, so I moved to supervisor of technical operations. I was selected to take over a team that was struggling with morale and had some of the worst KPI\'s in the region. Within a year we were able to turn that around and not only make it fun to go to work again, but be one of the top performing teams in the region for 2 years in a row. In 2016 I was ready for a new challenge. I decided to do something different and once again jumped out of my comfort zone. I went into business for myself and started a home and septic inspection company and a radon mitigation company, servicing home buyers. This was a very successful venture. I developed a team of inspectors and installers. Within 2 years we were surpassing a million dollars in revenue. By 2022 though, the market completely dried up and so did all the work. I was one of several companies in the area to close our doors. I kept my head high and went back to what I do best, in the industry I know the most, and be a leader of change.
