About Scott Tuffiash

Posts here do not represent the Avonworth School District in any official capacity*Hello! I\'m a high school teacher and student journalism adviser. I am not seeking employment - instead, I try to use this resource to keep my knowledge of public sectors current and broad. Reading specific content on this platform in finance, medicine, infrastructure, military, science, arts, and culture through working professionals, including ones currently searching for employment, helps me and my current high school students understand job fields as they change. Thank you to those who post about your daily tasks and aspirations in your various fields.About a month into 2nd year of teaching Human Flourishing at the HS level. Finished 2nd year of teaching AI and Ethics mid January. These two new courses at the high school level {AI and Ethics, Human Flourishing} are not about the art and science of teaching exclusively fixed works of lasting meaning, like great literature, art, music.it\'s also - especially with AI and Ethics - about finding throughlines between industry, government, academia, and the general public about the technology we have and how we should use it. First, is a particular machine intelligence tool just a tool? It is a required tool for particular progress? Is it a tool that enables human replacement, and what are the ramifications if a particular tool replaces a person who used to complete that task? For the Human Flourishing courses, what do we need on a daily basis to flourish? Journalists - I hope to introduce my students to your work. Ideally, they will be curious and develop some questions about how you create your work. It would be wonderful to have you answer some student questions as working professionals. Journalism appears really volatile, enlivening, promising, and exhausting as a daily career right now. Your anecdotes deeply impact students considering the profession. Overall, I am optimistic that knowledge of our humanity and what unites us can lead my students into any career with wisdom and positivity about how they can contribute the world around them. Your interactions here, even a message or two back and forth with someone on Linked In, confirms this in a powerful way for me and my students. Thank you for considering this if I\'ve contacted you.
