About Scott Theriot

I am a graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science. Currently, I work as an Associate Software Developer at Mathtech. Previously, I worked as an IT Service Desk Supervisor for Penn State IT. I assisted Penn State students & faculty with various software issues. This past summer, I interned at Mindgrub Technologies where I worked on various projects, including an AI chatbot, helping to refine my programming skills in TypeScript and React. Additionally, I learned about the AWS infrastructure, specifically how to leverage AWS Bedrock to create a chatbot agent. About a year ago, I assembled a team of 6 people to create a project for the Nittany AI Alliance Challenge. Together, we created TasteMate—an AI-powered recipe app that is for those with dietary restrictions. As the UX developer, I conducted surveys and questionnaires to gauge user engagement. I learned how to use Google Firebase Analytics to adjust and improve our features based on user engagement statistics. I am passionate about working with clients to understand their needs, and collaborating with technical teams to solve problems. Outside of my academics and career, I am a sprinter on the Penn State Track and Field Club team. I strive to create a balance between school, work, and personal wellness every day.
