ABOUT SCOTT SMITH
Vice President, Canadian Operations | Beaver Technology Services (BTS)I lead Beaver Technology Services’ Canadian operations, responsible for establishing and scaling the company’s presence across Canada. My role spans go-to-market strategy, rental and distribution partnerships, inventory and logistics planning, and execution across multiple safety product lines including engineered height-safety systems and confined space solutions.I work closely with national rental partners and distributors to align product availability, consignment strategies, and inventory planning with market demand, ensuring customers have reliable access to compliant, field-ready safety systems. My focus is on building a sustainable, scalable Canadian business supported by strong relationships, disciplined execution, and operational clarity.EFI AttachmentsAs the first employee at EFI Attachments, I had the rare opportunity to help build a company from the ground up. Over more than 20 years, I gained hands-on experience across virtually every function of the business - manufacturing, assembly, painting, sales, purchasing, inventory control, scheduling, HR, safety, and product design. In 2014, I designed and implemented EFI’s warehouse and inventory system, significantly improving production flow and on-time delivery of both purchased and internally manufactured components. I also played a key role in the design and continuous improvement of EFI’s custom ERP system, integrating quoting, ordering, scheduling, inventory, production tracking, and financial reporting into a single, company-wide system.During my tenure, EFI grew from a 1,500 sq. ft. shop with a handful of employees into a sq. ft. manufacturing facility employing more than 80 people. I’m proud to have contributed to that growth through hands-on leadership, cross-functional problem-solving, and a strong focus on operational excellence.GroundWorks Safety SystemsI played a key role in the development and commercialization of GroundWorks Safety Systems, an innovative trench safety solution utilizing high-tensile steel to deliver lighter, safer, and more versatile trench boxes. My involvement spanned the full lifecycle from product development and pricing to market rollout, sales support, and customer training.
