About Scott Skala
As a VP/General Manager at GCC and a member of the Executive Management team directing Business Unit activities in both Commercial and Industrial Markets, I am involved in creating and leading our teams in all aspects of our business plans on a national basis, including safety & quality, employee development, hiring, Business Unit growth, business development, project execution and client satisfaction. In the past I have also held positions at Graycor as General Manager for Industrial Buildings and Construction Manager for Retail. In 2008, my family and I relocated from the Chicago area to Charlotte as part of a new office start up. Since our move, we have embraced the people in the southeast and the Greater Charlotte area on the unique culture it offers. Thus, building new and lasting relationships within the community both personally and professionally, using my experience to work with others in achieve their goals is the driving force in what I do.My specific areas of expertise includes working with a wide group of clients to achieve their project goals while directing preconstruction activities, leading design and project teams on complex building projects with uncommon execution requirements, labor and subcontract management, material and equipment procurement, resource scheduling, estimating, design assistance, value engineering and consulting. I have 40+ years of diverse market experience in Manufacturing, Retail, Corporate, Aviation, Logistics/Distribution, Cold Storage, Hospitality, Institutional, and in multiple divisions of self-performed work.
