About Scott Sheridan

I am a higher education professional administrator who currently oversees the international operations and academic curriculum of IES Abroad\'s post-secondary education centers in France, Italy, Korea, China, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, with previous oversight of locations in Vienna, Berlin, and Dublin. I leverage over 30 years of college-level teaching experience as well as extensive periods of working abroad, leading travel courses, and directing semester-long study away programs to execute my current responsibilities in the field of international education for both U.S. and international college students. I am experienced in program development, academic quality control, student supervision on a variety of levels, and financial oversight of highly complex international programs. The skills I have developed in such areas as international hiring and downsizing, contract and agreement negotiations, and financial management in foreign markets have provided me excellent opportunities to develop crossover skills in international operations management in addition to the strengths I bring to higher education administration.At IES Global, my administrative duties also include my service as academic liaison to our Customized and Faculty-Led unit, as well as oversight lead for both the Virtual Learning Support Services Team and the Study Abroad Foundation’s creation, management, and delivery of academic programming. As a former full Professor, I pride myself on my ability to bridge academic tradition with forward-thinking innovation: coupled with my experience in pedagogical applications of technology to enhance instruction and learning in the study abroad context, I am especially dedicated to experiential learning strategies that further students\' global understanding and intercultural competence, as well as foster their linguistic diversity and appreciation for art, in all its forms.

   I oversee academic programming, operations, financial management, and strategic planning for Centers (14) in France, Italy, and the Asia Pacific, as well as a multi location summer program (museums, art & culture) in Rome/Paris. I also serve as the Director of the Center of Excellence in Teaching and Learning Abroad (CETLA).Additionally, I act as the Academic Liaison for Customized and Faculty-Led Programs at IES Abroad, charged with both academic and strategic planning and initiatives. I also provide leadership oversight to the Executive Director of the Study Abroad Foundation as well as the Assistant Dean in charge of Virtual Learning Support Services.
