SJCA (St. Joseph Center of Arkansas) is a nonprofit cooperative dedicated to building stronger communities through agriculture, arts, and STEAM education in central Arkansas. We believe that when you connect people to the land, to learning, and to each other, transformative things happen. Our work spans multiple interconnected initiatives. Through our Growing Urban Farmers program, we bring together growers of all experience levels for hands-on education, monthly meet-ups, and Field Days covering everything from soil science to farm business management. SJCA is also leading the effort to relaunch the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub as a community-owned cooperative in North Little Rock\'s Argenta Arts District. The relaunched Hub will preserve the beloved STEAM programming that made it a community cornerstone while expanding into LEARNS Act-eligible classes, farm and garden training, artisan workshops in glasswork, pottery, and screen printing, and an Arkansas Made & Grown market showcasing local producers, makers, and farmers. We believe the spaces where people learn, create, and grow should belong to the people who use them. Our Living Bridge philosophy connects aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, watershed education with food production, and tradition with innovation — bridging disciplines to build something greater than the sum of its parts.
