I started 1908 Advisors in 2016 because I was frustrated by what I saw at a large private equity buyer of in-force life insurance for seven years, offended by the incumbent channel\'s business practices, opaque and woefully ineffective price discovery, and egregious commissions, knowing that top wealth advisors would never engage the market in a meaningful way without real change - so, I decided to be that change.Changing a market with an incumbent channel that wants to protect its egregious economics is hard, but fun, and my business works only with people we like and respect personally and professionally, who share our values.and, importantly, who we’d want to spend time with, if we weren’t working together. My industry experience prior to founding 1908 ranges from policy-level underwriting, portfolio analysis, and capital commitment, to trading and leading portfolio engagements and transactions with other leading private equity firms in the industry (e.g. DE Shaw, Apollo, Blackstone, TPG, FlexPoint Ford, and others) and various endowments, pension funds, and UHNW investors.I began my career as a marketing rep for IBM before transitioning to a corporate finance role within IBM Credit Corporation and then consulting with IBM\'s largest financial services customers. He later led an internal consulting team that worked with senior leadership in the Personal Systems Division (PSD) on various initiatives. He then transitioned to strategy consulting for several years, with clients including Century Telephone, UPS, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, and John Deere, before, finally into private equity and life settlements.I have served on several non-profit boards, including as Chairman for both Embraced Atlanta and the North Georgia Chapter of Make A Wish and has been a volunteer with Special Olympics for more than 25 years. He is an avid cyclist and enthusiastic (but slow) runner, completing the Chicago Marathon twice, running to raise money for the Pat Tillman Foundation.

All firms that assiduously avoided life settlements until they learned of our approach and the benefits for their clients.We also serve a rapidly growing universe of principled, Best Interest-oriented life insurance professionals at the most sophisticated insurance advisory firms in the country, especially among those with CFP and ChFC designations, as well as Trust Companies, trustees, and wirehouse advisors.We drive substantively better outcomes – both psychic and financial - in a more transparent, effective, expeditious, confidence-engendering process than any other approach available to policy owners or their advisors – brokers, direct buyers, or single providers.​
