About Scott Preston
I am an experienced leader with a proven track record of guiding large organizations toward achieving their strategic objectives. During my military service, I developed a diverse skill set through roles that emphasized stakeholder engagement, project and program management, and human resource management. I excel at quickly assessing complex situations and implementing tailored solutions that align with an organization’s long-term vision. Currenlty, I serve as the Defense Coordinating Officer for the US Army, I serve as a liaison between FEMA and the Department of Defense in responding to disasters during Defense Support of Civil Authorities operations across four states. This role demands strategic planning and adept coordination with federal, state, and local agencies. The competencies honed in this position include emergency management, stakeholder engagement, and training a diverse team for readiness in crisis situations.Beyond my service in uniform, I contribute to shaping future leaders through the Boy Scouts of America and Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. The skills transferred from military to civic leadership involve mentoring in leadership, risk management, and character development. These activities reflect my dedication to fostering civic responsibility and professional growth in the next generation, aligning with my values of service and volunteerism.
