    Summary/Objective:The Compounder prepares complex flavor blends. This position involves working closely with flavor scientists and product developers to create innovative and high-quality flavors for a variety of consumer products, including food, beverages, and other flavor-related applications.Essential Functions:• Compounding: Accurately prepare and mix ingredients according to specific recipes and formulations under the guidance of senior flavor chemists and R&D staff.• Lab Work: Prepare sample batches of flavor compounds, ensuring proper measurements, mixing procedures, and adherence to safety protocols.• Quality Control: Participate in sensory evaluation of ingredients and finished flavor compounds to ensure they meet established specifications, including consistency in flavor profile, appearance, and stability.• Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all formulation processes, ingredient batches, and lab notes to comply with internal standards and regulatory guidelines.• Testing & Sensory Evaluation: Participate in sensory evaluations and assist in the testing of flavor compounds for organoleptic properties.• Collaboration: Work closely with flavor scientists, R&D managers, and other team members to troubleshoot issues, optimize formulations, and develop new flavor profiles for various product applications.• Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in flavor formulation, contributing ideas for improvements in processes and formulations.• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with safety standards and laboratory best practices, including the proper handling and storage of chemicals, raw materials, and finished products.Other Duties• Supports Lab Technicians as required to ensure continuous operations.• Participate in sensory evaluation training activities. • Recommend quality parameters for incoming raw materials.
