ABOUT SCOTT ROBERT BROWN
As of August 2025 I will be the Research and Innovation Teacher at ACS Egham, addressing complex challenges relating to technology and learning whilst managing the new learning center. I used to work at Institut Le Rosey as an Education Consultant for Computer Science and as a teacher and boarding houseparent prior to my new opportunity in the UK working with young people and using my knowledge, experience, and skills in Boarding and Education to help them reach their potential, be that academic, sporting, or artistic. The main academic subject I teach across all curricla is Computer Science focused on Python and Java coding languages alongside visual programming software like Scratch. I teach from Key stage 3 all the way to Key stage 5 (roughly ages 10 to 18). I also teach the International Baccalaureate subjects of Computer Science and TOK, with my graduates attending Ivy League, Russel Group, US and UK universities. Outside the classroom I started the #Rosey_connected initiative which partners our school with the Gaku to help encourage healthy gaming habits in students, as well as educating them on future technologies. During my time in Kings College in Madrid, I was a Boarding houseparent, responsible for the well-being and day to day care of over 40 international students from 13-18 years of age. Before international teaching I was studying for my MSc in Software Engineering at the University of York whilst working as a cover teacher at Huntington School until August 2018. During my time teaching Computer science at Huntington School in York I was also a Research Associate helping to establish the research school in North Yorkshire, bringing evidence based practice into the classroom by letting teachers (like myself) lead inquiry work. Prior to this I studied broadcast media and digital media which I can still apply today in my computing work due to the intense relationship between the two subjects and disciplines. MSc Software Engineering Modules Studied: Privacy and Security, Project Management (working with BT), Service Oriented Architecture, Static Analysis, Systems Architecture, Model Driven Development, Software Testing. In my personal life I enjoy producing and performing musically, as well as writing and playing sports like Ice Hockey, Football, Basketball, and Curling.
