Manage and lead high-level communication with USDA National Organic Program and track NOP and NOSB communication, proceedings, and rulemaking• Engage NOSB year-round via communication with subcommittees and written public comment in advance of recommendations• Work closely the Director of Regulatory and Technical Affairs on NOP organic standards development including research, data collection, drafting of comments, white papers and reports• Track NOSB activities, NOP rulemaking, and program announcements• Lead OTA’s interface with the Accredited Certifier’s Association (ACA) to strengthen and formalize collaboration• Serve as lead expert on issues related to certification, accreditation, and material review• Educate organic and allied industry as well as public officials on issues affecting organic producers and handlers
