About Scott Porter

Its amazing how life can take you down paths you never expected and most times with the only incentive of survival. I started out in school always wanting to be a stock broker and hedge fund manager. When I graduated from Cal Lu I had plenty of finance opportunities to pursue but I had a friend that convinced me to enjoy life for 6 months before taking the plunge into the workforce. Well that quickly led to a tech recruiting position when the dot com era was booming. It only took 1.5yrs from that start before I had to recruit myself into a new career, especially since my first son was on the way! Somehow a very seasoned branch manager within the semiconductor sales field thought I was a good fit for a position, even though I couldn\'t spell semiconductor, much less know what one was/did. Thirteen years of being in that field led to tremendous experiences and countless friendships. Then due to crazy events I find myself starting a bio-based lubricant manufacturing company and now I can\'t imagine ever doing anything different. What a journey, unplanned, uncharted and although I wish I could do a few things more efficiently or not do them at all, I\'m 100% dedicated to this space and making a difference in people\'s lives. Each day I learn more about the world, chemistry, manufacturing processes, packaging, operations and what drives consumer decision making. Maybe I\'ll never be an expert but I\'ll learn enough to pass along to thousands that can hopefully take the baton even further. Making a difference is my new passion and I strive to be a leader in this space for education to proliferate the advantages of sustainability in non-petroleum products/processes. Join me by changing purchasing habits through conscious and responsible decisions that take a few seconds each day. A great bio-based product is a win for you, me, us, the planet, the world economy and our children\'s future.
