Member of the Deck Department. Instruct various courses within the Deck Department while specializing in navigation, ECDIS, and Bridge Resource Management. I also served as the Relief Master/First Class Pilot on the T.S. State of Michigan during the annual summer cruise. I developed the policies, procedures and implementation of the transition to paperless navigation on the T.S. State of Michigan. I have integrated technology throughout the curriculum by deploying classroom polling systems, designing multiple hybrid/online courses based on evidenced-based principles, created active learning spaces and personalized learning environments through simulation. The NMC-GLMA students nominated me, and I received the Imogene Wise Faculty Excellence Award due to my efforts to transition to hybrid/online learning in the spring of 2020 and my continued emphasis on instructional innovation.
