ABOUT SCOTT HO
I am currently a special education teacher after being a foundational staff member at a brand new government school as their STEM and Visual Arts teacher. My interest in biomedical science lies particularly in the gut microbiome and its contribution to human development, evolution, health and disease.I have completed a Bachelor of Science (Major in Microbiology) and Bachelor of Primary Education (Honours), with research projects completed in both faculties and experience presenting at two research conferences. In 2019, my education research aimed to characterise factors that influence confidence in primary science teaching to hopefully shed light on how to improve teacher confidence and learning outcomes for students in schools within the Melbourne, Victoria context. In 2018, my biomedical research focused on novel bacterial species within the gut microbiota led by Dr Sam Forster at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research.
