ABOUT SCOTT HAYES

My career began as a qualified electrician before transitioning into the telecommunications industry. From here, I developed an excellent understanding of the copper and fibre networks, alongside hands-on experience working on underground and overhead infrastructure. My experience spans both electrical and network domains, enabling me to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly across teams and projects.Over the years, I’ve gained a wealth of technical skills through in-house training and practical experience, showcasing proficiency in electrical installations, network configurations, and system commissioning. I’ve worked on telecoms infrastructure projects, including installations and commissioning of equipment on 5G cellular sites and contracts with major clients such as BT Openreach, EE, and Three Mobile. This strengthened my experience in the field, combining electrical expertise with telecoms deployment in high-pressure environments.Currently, I work as a UPS Service Engineer, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing single-phase and 3-phase UPS systems across the UK—often in critical environments such as NHS hospitals and private laboratories. I’m experienced in fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and working with high-voltage equipment, and I hold qualifications including the 18th Edition and City & Guilds 2391-50.
