The Development Director at Sarasota Opera is responsible for the organization\'s annual fund ($4.7M) and has a voice in discussions around creating and modifying programs to meet the goals laid out in the strategic plan. The development team I manage consists of one part-time and three full-time employees, and we work closely with the Executive Director, Artistic Director, and Board of Trustees to ensure the organization has the resources it needs to execute its mission. The team also works to cultivate good and productive working relationships with the marketing, education, finance, production, and artistic departments. Accomplishments include realigning giving levels to bring about equitable benefit distribution; moving the organization to a cumulative giving recognition model that encourages increased support through diversification of giving; developing and implementing a new giving program that supplements support for on-stage productions; working with staff to strengthen prospect identification/research, cultivation, and donor stewardship to increase giving from current donors and new giving, raising over in new/increased gifts; working with Education staff, Development staff, and leadership to expand giving to education programming; successful pandemic relief funding campaigns; a year-end campaign that raised nearly in two months for capital project to be supplemented by local and national foundation support; adding access-based benefits for major donors to encourage new and increased giving; and in-depth analysis of the organization\'s main major giving program which identified strengths and challenges that informed strategy.
