ABOUT SCOTT G.
I am a Chartered Accountant (ICAS) who qualified with Johnston Carmichael in 2010.Shortly after qualifying, I moved into my first industry role with ASCO, working in a number of finance positions ranging from Group Accountant to Financial Controller whilst gaining valuable experience in several jurisdictions around the world including Australia, Canada, Norway, UAE and the US. I joined Hutcheon Mearns in December 2017 with a view to helping grow the business with its owner managed team. In October 2025, Hutcheon Mearns was acquired by Cooper Parry, and I am responsible for finance outsourcing activities across our Scottish region. My team works with small and medium sized businesses, providing three key service lines as follows- Retained Finance Work: Providing a fully flexible offering to clients who require transactional (AR, AP, banking, invoicing), compliance (VAT, CT), payroll, and advisory finance support (budgeting, forecasting, board level support) within their business- Project Work: Providing bespoke project support to clients including Xero system migrations, finance process reviews, audit preparation, and annual statutory compliance work- On-site Interim Work: Offering clients a flexible interim solution to bridge gaps within their internal finance teams from Accounts Assistant to Finance Manager level.
