ABOUT SCOTT FIELDSEND

I have been in the industry for 20 years sub-contracting for many different companies throughout my working life. There have been quite a few companies to which I owe a great deal of my experience in telecommunications industry and to which I would not be the engineer I am today. I am hard working and take my role especially when installing fire alarms very seriously. I would say I do get a lot of job satisfaction from my work and think that for anybody to do there job to the best of there ability they must also take something away from there work, otherwise there would not be the will to do there best at there job. When I first left school I went into working at a tool distribution company working in there accounts department, this is what I generally thought I would like to do as a career. I was only there for a year before the company decided to relocate to Coventry, and as not to loose my job I decided to go with them. Unfortunately the job did not work out for me and I found myself without work, but only for a few days. I got a call from one of my friends offering me a labouring job with a company Universal Cabling which I snapped up. I initially thought this would be a stop gap job before I got back into accounting but as the weeks went by the love for the job grew, traveling around the country, staying away for weeks at a time and learning the trade I\'m in today was the best choice I made. I stayed with universal cabling for many years learning the job and generally having a good time. Without that initial job offer I would probably be stuck in a dead end office job that I would looking back have not been suited to.
