About Scott Etish

I collaborate with attorneys, fiduciaries, and professional advisors who guide high-net-worth individuals through complex estate, trust, and financial planning decisions. My focus is helping professionals unlock hidden value in life insurance policies that are no longer needed or affordable—turning a potential lapse or surrender into liquidity, premium relief, or a more efficient wealth transfer strategy.Education is central to my approach. I regularly present to estate planning councils, bar associations, law firms, and professional organizations nationwide. My programs are designed to help advisors recognize when life settlements may be appropriate, how to evaluate client scenarios, and how to integrate these strategies into their practices. Life insurance is often misunderstood or overlooked as an asset class—but when approached strategically, it can deliver significant value for families, estates, and businesses. At Coventry, we’ve completed over $50 billion in longevity-linked transactions. I’m proud to help lead our national education efforts and support the advisor community in delivering better outcomes for their clients through life settlements. Before joining Coventry, I spent nearly two decades as a litigator and was a Partner at Gibbons P.C, where I advised clients in high-stakes commercial disputes. I began my legal career clerking for an Associate Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court. I hold a J.D. from Rutgers Law School and a B.A. from Wesleyan University.Outside of Coventry, I am deeply involved with various local youth sports organizations, including Dukes Elite Lacrosse Club (Youth Coordinator), Upper Dublin Lacrosse Club (UDLC) and Upper Dublin Soccer Club (UDSC). I have coached across multiple age groups for these organizations and currently serve as UDLC’s representative to SEPYLA, and sit on the SEPYLA Board. My commitment to youth sports extends well beyond the lacrosse and soccer fields. I served on the board of SquashSmarts, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that combines athletics and academics to empower public school students, for more than a decade. I am a strong advocate for the positive impact of sports and believe athletics play a critical role in building character, confidence, discipline, and lifelong skills.
