About Scott Coffee

A criminal defense attorney since passing the bar in 1995. I have spent the last twenty-five years as a member of the CCPD murder team, where I currently serve as team chief. I supervise 10 attorneys plus support staff. My practice focuses on the death penalty, homicide cases, and training. I am admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, authored more twenty appeals to the Nevada Supreme Court, arguing more than a dozen, and participate in the legislative process authoring bill drafts and testing numerous times before the Nevada legislature. I served a co-chair of the life/death practice for the Nevada Supreme Court\'s criminal practice sub-group and also sit on the criminal jury instruction sub-group. I am actively involved in training new trial attorneys at the Public Defender’s Office, UNLV, and the State Bar as a presenting member of the Annual Trial Academy faculty since it\'s inception more than decade ago. In 2014 I was selected by NACJ as Defender of Year.
